About
The hill behind the village, part of Killiney Hill Park. The disused granite quarry on its flank supplied the stone for the great piers at Dún Laoghaire, brought down by a funicular railway in the 1800s, and the cut rock faces are now one of Dublin's main rock-climbing crags. Walkers come for the views, which run from Howth across Dublin Bay to Bray Head and the Wicklow Mountains. Reach it gently from the Dalkey Avenue park entrances, or the hard way up the Cat's Ladder.
