About
An 18-hole parkland course at The Glenns, about four kilometres north of the town, founded in 1893 and cut out of natural woodland and esker ridges. Eskers are the gravel ridges left behind by retreating ice sheets, and in the midlands they give a course the undulation, ridges and hollows that inland courses usually lack. The club's own description, echoed by local tourism copy, is that it is the nearest inland equivalent to a links course. Green fees and visitor times are on the club's site; check ahead, because club competitions take big chunks of the weekend.
