The Adare Heritage Centre is the orientation hub for the village, with a historical exhibition on Adare and its monastic and estate history, a cafe, and craft and gift shops under one roof. Entry to the centre is free. It is also the practical starting point for a visit: the guided tours of Desmond Castle depart from here by shuttle in the summer season, and it is the place to confirm current tour times and prices. Use it to get your bearings before walking the thatched street and the medieval ruins, and as a warm, dry stop on a wet day.
