Larpool Viaduct Bungee Jump
About
Larpool Viaduct carries the old railway line high over the Esk south of the town, and on selected dates UK Bungee Club rig a jump platform from it: a 140-foot drop towards the river, which the operator gives as the tallest bridge bungee in the country and the only one in England run from a bridge. The session is a couple of hours rather than a couple of minutes, because it covers a safety briefing and harnessing before anyone goes over the edge, and the view on the way down is the wooded river valley rather than the harbour. It runs on event dates only and is weather-dependent, so it is something you plan a visit around rather than something you find on the day. Meet at the Marina Back Car Park on Langbourne Road and look for the club's canopy.
