Half a Day in Tenby

    Walk the town walls from the Five Arches

    Start at the Five Arches barbican gate on South Parade and walk the surviving stretch of the 13th-century walls into the old town.

    A quick National Trust stop on Quay Hill to see a genuine circa-1500 merchant's house up close.

A Full Day: Tenby and Caldey Island

A full day built around the Caldey Island crossing, with the old town and a beach either side of it. Only works on days the ferry sails (no Sundays, and no winter service), so check the current schedule before planning around this itinerary.

    Cover the old town's heritage sights before the harbour gets busy: the walls, Tudor Merchant's House and the museum on Castle Hill.

    Caldey Island crossing

    Buy tickets at the harbour on the day (no advance booking) and cross to Caldey Island for the monastery, the priory ruins and the beach.

    Back to Tenby: South Beach or Castle Beach

    After the return crossing, wind down on South Beach or, if the tide allows, cross to St Catherine's Island from Castle Beach.
