About
A short passenger ferry crossing from Tenby Harbour to Caldey Island, a mile and a half offshore, home to a working Cistercian monastery. The island has a medieval priory, a lighthouse, a post office and museum, a gift shop and tea garden, a sandy beach and walking paths, and a shop selling the monks' own perfume and chocolate. Boats run Monday to Saturday in season (no Sunday sailings); tickets are sold on the day at the harbour rather than booked in advance, and the crossing does not run in winter. Confirm the current season's start and end dates and sailing days directly before travelling, since these shift slightly year to year.
