Cambuskenneth Abbey
About
The remains of the abbey across the Forth east of the city, in the village that Stirling City Heritage Trust says locals call The Abbey. Historic Environment Scotland opens it free of charge from 1 April to 30 September and closes it for the winter. You reach it on foot over the footbridge across the river, which the trust dates to 1935. HES warns that access is over farmland that can be muddy, and recommends strong footwear.
