About

Rooms above Southwold's most ambitious restaurant, in a High Street building whose oldest parts run back to the fifteenth century. The bedrooms follow the original room shapes rather than a modern floor plan, so they are unusually large and carry the features that came with them: one has a sleigh bed under a pargetted ceiling dated 1660, another a six-foot double-ended slipper bath in front of a fireplace. It is a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel, and the restaurant downstairs is adults only with fixed evening sittings, which shapes what an evening here looks like. Rooms book through the house's own booking page. Room numbers were not independently confirmed during this research pass.
