The Dee runs white through the middle of town, and Whitewater Active rafts it from its centre on Bridge Street, in the same building as Riverbanc. Its rafting page describes a two-and-a-half-hour session after a safety briefing, on rapids it names as Serpents Tail, Tombstones and Town Falls, with up to six people and a qualified guide in each raft. The company calls the river Grade 2 to 3 and says rafting runs all year; it also runs gorge walking, canyoning and an aqueduct canoe tour.
