Llangollen and Corwen Railway
About
The heritage line up the Dee valley from Llangollen station on Abbey Road, about 10 miles to Corwen with stops at Berwyn, Glyndyfrdwy and Carrog. Llangollen Railway plc went into administration in 2021. The railway's own history says services were suspended that year, the Llangollen Railway Trust took full responsibility, and trains ran again later in 2021. The permanent Corwen Central station, with an island platform reached by an underpass, officially opened on 2 June 2023 and completed the line. Most trains are steam-hauled, the railway's FAQ says, with some days mixing steam with diesel or heritage railcars; the timetable is colour coded, so check which kind of train runs on the date you pick.
