Derek Addyman and Anne Brichto opened Addyman Books in 1987 in a ten-foot room at the Blue Boar, and six months later moved to Lion Street, where the shop is now a warren of rooms and corridors on two floors. The owners also run Murder and Mayhem across the road (opened 1997) and the Addyman Annexe, and between them they are known for fair prices and a strong line in English literature and modern first editions. Ring before bringing books to sell; they buy selectively.
