The Three Tuns
4 Broad Street, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5DB
About
The pub on the corner of Broad Street and Bridge Street, by the bridge end of town. Cadw's listing dates the building to the early 17th century, built around part of a 16th-century cruck-framed timber house and largely encased in stone, and notes it has been a pub since 1830. The kitchen now leans Italian: pizza, pasta and a brisket ragu sit alongside burgers and a charcuterie platter, with 'nduja and prosciutto from Hay Charcuterie on several dishes. The pub's own site says dogs are welcome throughout. It opens every day from noon, with Sunday lunch served 12:00 to 14:30, and you can book online or on the phone.
