Beneath the South Bridge lie vaults built in the 1700s, used over the years for all sorts, including as homes for the city's poorest, and now some of Edinburgh's most talked-about haunted spaces. Auld Reekie's one-hour guided tour takes you down into the candle-lit vaults to hear how they were used, how people lived there, and the ghost stories attached to them. Tours start from Auld Reekie's base on the Royal Mile and run every half hour through the day.
