About
A nature reserve on the far bank of the estuary at Llandudno Junction, built on ground that did not exist until the A55 was tunnelled under the river and the spoil was put here. It is about 1.6km from the walled town in a straight line and walkable over the road bridge, which makes it the easiest genuinely outdoor thing to do in Conwy without a car and without climbing anything. Roughly 114 acres of lagoons, reedbed, grassland and saltmarsh, with hides, a visitor centre and level paths. Spring migration is the peak, but the estuary holds waders and wildfowl through the winter, and it is the reliable wet-weather-with-a-coat option.

Tips
- →Walkable from the walled town over the road bridge, about 25 minutes, or a two-minute train hop to Llandudno Junction.
- →Listed hours are 09:30 to 17:00 daily; check the RSPB reserve page before travelling.
- →Bring binoculars or hire them at the centre. Without them this is a walk rather than a wildlife visit.
