A stone and half-timbered merchant's house on the corner of Castle Street and High Street, dating from the fourteenth century and the only medieval merchant's house in Conwy to survive. Set your expectations by what it currently is rather than what it used to be: the National Trust has reopened the ground floor as a second-hand bookshop rather than a furnished house tour, describing it as a new chapter for a building that has previously been a hotel, a museum and an antique shop. The National Trust lists the bookshop as open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm; some listings also show Sunday, so check the property page on the day rather than turning up on the strength of either. Dogs are welcome in the shop.
