About

Chester's local museum, strong on the city's Roman history, with a well-regarded collection of Roman tombstones and inscriptions from Deva Victrix alongside decorative art and natural history galleries. It is a useful companion to a walk on the walls or a visit to the Amphitheatre, filling in the Roman context in more depth than either site can carry on its own. Entry is free.
