Deva Roman Experience
About
Chester began as Deva Victrix, one of the largest Roman fortresses in Britain, and this attraction off Bridge Street puts you inside it. Run by Big Heritage, it is built as a set you walk through, with a Roman bath house, a market street and the amphitheatre, using projection and special effects alongside real archaeology from the site. It is aimed at families as much as history buffs, and it makes a good start before you see the real amphitheatre and walls.
