Sea Life Brighton
About
Sea Life Brighton bills itself as the world's oldest operating aquarium, built in 1872 into Victorian arched halls right on the seafront, and it is currently open and running normal visitor operations. Inside are sharks, rays, turtles, and a walk-through underwater tunnel that is a reliable hit with children on a rainy day. It is smaller than some big-city aquariums so it does not need a full day, but the historic architecture is worth seeing on its own. Book online rather than turning up, since the on-the-day price is noticeably higher than advance tickets.
