About

The Cricketers claims to be Brighton's oldest pub, with parts of the building dating back to the 1540s, sitting right in the middle of the Lanes surrounded by jewellers and boutiques. Graham Greene reportedly used it as a setting in Brighton Rock, and the interior still has a proper old pub feel with dark wood, etched glass, and a small back courtyard. It serves standard pub food and a solid range of cask ale and gin, working as a stop for a pint while exploring the Lanes as much as a full meal out. It gets busy with a mixed crowd of locals, tourists, and after-work drinkers depending on the time of day.
