The Thornbridge Experience

Thornbridge has brewed since 2005 and is best known for Jaipur IPA. Its taproom and shop are at the Riverside Business Park on Buxton Road, about a kilometre north-west of the Square, alongside the brewery. The Thornbridge Experience is a 45-minute session inside the Millrace Brewery: how beer is made, a look at hop aromas, a short film on the brewery's history and a tutored tasting of six beers, equivalent to two pints. Thornbridge says the room is home to the world's only working Union Set. It costs from £15 midweek and £18 at weekends, plus a 5% booking fee, and is dog friendly. The brewery suggests a weekday if you want a quieter, smaller group, because the taproom next door gets loud at weekends. The taproom serves cask and keg beer and pizza every day and takes cards only.
