The fish bar on the Royal Pier serves traditional fish and chips to take away, or to sit in, or to eat on the end of the pier, which the pier calls a chipnic. The Inn on the Pier upstairs serves bar food from the same kitchen daily from midday until half past eight. Only food and drink bought on the pier can be eaten there. Gulls are a fact of life on the prom, so eat with a hand over the chips.
