Trim Visitor Centre and the Medieval Armoury

The visitor centre is where the town explains itself: a scale model of medieval Trim, tourist information, a gift shop, and a hands-on Medieval Armoury session where you get to handle the weapons, mail and armour rather than look at them through glass. It also runs two guided walking tours of the town, a shorter Medieval Mile and a longer Holy Trail of Knights and Monks, and it takes bookings for Trim Castle keep tours in the winter season. It is normally at the Town Hall on Castle Street, opposite the castle gate, but as of late August 2026 it is still operating temporarily from the Swift Cultural Centre on High Street, C15 P668, while maintenance work is done, so go there rather than to the Town Hall. It opens Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and is closed at weekends and on bank holiday Mondays, and the Armoury runs to its own shorter hours, Monday to Thursday 10am to 3pm and Friday 10am to 2pm, with a cap of twenty-five people.
