Knightsbrook is out on the Dublin road on the Trim side of the roundabout, about two kilometres from the castle, and it is the resort option rather than the town-centre one: a championship golf course, the River Spa with a thermal suite, a seventeen-metre pool, gym and studios, and self-catering courtyard homes alongside the hotel rooms. Rococo is its main restaurant, with Swifts Bar and a terrace beside it. It carries a serious wedding trade, so a Saturday here is a different hotel from a Tuesday. If you want to walk to the castle from your room, this is not the one; if you want a pool and a tee time, it is.
