About
Highfield House is the early-1800s house on Castle Street with the best domestic view in Trim: the castle, the Yellow Steeple and the Boyne, all from the front windows, about three hundred metres from the castle gate. It opened as a maternity hospital in 1834 and stayed one until 1983, which is a piece of local history most Trim families over a certain age have a personal connection to, and it has been run as a guesthouse by Edward and Geraldine Duignan since. Eight en suite rooms, from single up to family, and the whole house can be taken on a self-catering basis for a group.
