About

Waterford and Tramore Racecourse sits up on Graun Hill above the town, on a site chosen in 1912 after the sea took the original course at Riverstown. It runs twelve fixtures across 2026, mixing flat and jump cards, and the four-day August festival is the week the town is fullest. Parking on the course is free. Tickets are sold through the racecourse's own site and Ticketstop; the homepage only ever lists the next couple of meetings, so use the fixtures page or the Horse Racing Ireland fixture list for the full year.

Highlights

  • Four-day August festival, 13 to 16 August in 2026
  • A New Year's Day meeting on 1 January
  • Free on-course parking
  • Twenty minutes' walk up from the town centre

Tips

  • Check the fixtures page rather than the homepage; the homepage only shows the next two meetings.
  • Buses to Tramore stop in the town centre, not at the course; it is uphill from there.
  • Book a bed months ahead for the August festival.
