A working seaweed bathhouse on Shore Road, founded in 2000 by Sligo man Neil Walton to revive the Edwardian-era tradition of Irish seaweed bathing, a tradition that goes back to a bathhouse first built on this same road in 1912. Hand-harvested organic Atlantic seaweed is steeped in a hot bath alongside a private steam room; sessions run 50 to 75 minutes and range from a single bath to two-person suites with a sea view. The business now draws around 40,000 visitors a year and has become one of the best-known stops on the Wild Atlantic Way.
