About
A 6.8km coastal loop starting from the promenade beside the Strand Bar, through dunes, salt marsh and pine woodland, past the airport runway to Killaspugbrone, an early Christian site said to have been founded by Saint Patrick in the fifth century, with church ruins dating to 1150-1220. The walk continues around the exposed headland at Killaspug Point, with views to Benbulben and Knocknarea, then returns via Dorrins Strand. A shorter 6.2km variant follows the airport road instead.
