A 2.5-hour beginner-to-intermediate surf lesson run out of the National Surf Centre on Strandhill seafront, with wetsuit, boots and board included, plus changing rooms and hot showers afterwards. Sessions are tide-dependent, small-group, and run in English as well as Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Strandhill's own beach is the classroom: an exposed Atlantic break, so instructors read the swell and pick the safest window rather than running to a fixed clock.

Tips
- →Book ahead in July and August, lessons run back to back and fill up.
- →Bring a change of clothes; the changing rooms have hot showers but it's still an Atlantic beach in the wind.
