On Harbour Road across from the water, Joe May's has been a Skerries pub since 1865 and is run by the fourth generation of the May family. The outside tables get the harbour and the sea, the inside is cosy with a fire going on a cold day, and the welcome is genuinely friendly. A pint here facing the boats is one of the simple pleasures of the town. Some other good Skerries pubs are Nealon's, the Snug and the Malting House.
