Lough Derg eBike Tours runs a guided ride from Killaloe Hotel and Spa up the western shore of the lake to Mountshannon, where you board Gerard Madden's boat for about an hour on Inis Cealtra and then ride back. From Killaloe it is the operator's moderate version: 48km on Trek eBikes with no major climbs, along the shore to Tuamgraney and on by quiet roads, around four hours in all. Groups are capped at six. The operator says the tour runs March to October because of the boat, that the sailing is more weather dependent than the cycling, and that if the boat cannot go you are offered a reschedule, a refund, or the ride alone with the boat fare refunded. The boat fare is paid separately to the boat operator.
