The Wicklow Heather is a family-run restaurant on the Glendalough Road at Brockagh, on the edge of Laragh, and the closest thing the area has to a destination dining room. It has been trading for over fifty years, with a warm room of wooden beams and antique details, an Irish whiskey bar, and the Irish Writers Room, a collection of first editions by Joyce, Stoker and other Irish writers on the walls. The menu is classic Irish and continental cooking built on locally sourced, organic produce where possible, running from breakfast through lunch to dinner. It is popular enough with day-trippers and locals alike that reservations are strongly encouraged, though walk-ins are accommodated when there is room. Outdoor seating and dog-friendly tables are available.
