Powerscourt Distillery
Powerscourt Estate, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, A98 A9T7
About
Powerscourt Distillery brought whiskey-making back to Enniskerry in 2018, after a gap of more than a century, by converting the estate's old mill house, a heritage building dating to the 1730s, into a working distillery. It makes Fercullen Irish whiskey, named for the old territory this corner of Wicklow sat in, across single malt, single grain and blended releases, along with limited editions and a cask programme. The distillery shop sells the range on site, and the hour-long tour of the still house and warehouse finishes on three tastings. It is the only genuine drinks producer physically located in the parish, and the only place in Enniskerry where the thing you buy was made about fifty metres from the counter.
