About
Avoca fills the ground floor of Powerscourt House: a retail store of homeware, fashion, books, toys and gifting, an artisanal food market with its own bakery and grab-and-go counter, and the Terrace Cafe behind it. The reason it counts as a producer rather than a shop is the weaving. Avoca's throws and clothing are woven at the company's own mill in Avoca, further south in the same county, and this is the flagship place to buy them. It is also, usefully, free to walk into: the house courtyard and the shops sit outside the gardens ticket, so you can buy a loaf, a throw and a coffee at Powerscourt without paying to see the terraces at all.
