Cliffs of Moher (Day Trip from Ennis)
About 45 minutes by car from Ennis · Clifftop paths, some climbs elevation
About
The Cliffs of Moher are Ireland's most-visited natural attraction and the classic day trip from Ennis, about 45 minutes to the west out through Ennistymon and Lahinch. The cliffs rise to more than 200 metres over roughly 8 km of Atlantic coast, with O'Brien's Tower at the high point and a visitor centre built into the hillside. Ennis is inland, so this is a drive out rather than a walk from the door, which is exactly the trip the town is built to launch. Pre-book a timed ticket online, which is required at busy times and cheaper than the gate, and go early or late in summer to dodge the coaches. Pair it with Doolin or the Burren to make a full day.
