Aran Islands Ferry to Inisheer from Doolin Pier

← All things to do

About

Doolin is one of only three mainland ports for the Aran Islands, and the closest of the three islands, Inis Oirr (Inisheer), is only about fifteen minutes across. The Aran Islands are Gaeltacht, Irish-speaking, with stone walls, sandy beaches, a ruined castle and the wreck of the Plassey on Inisheer, and a day there is one of the best things you can do from Doolin. Ferries run from the pier from late February to early November, up to four sailings a day in summer, operated by the Doolin Ferry Company. This day-trip product, run on the ground by Ollie's Tours, pairs the crossing with a bike or bus tour of the island so you see it properly in a few hours. Inis Meain and the larger Inis Mor are also reachable from Doolin on the same operator's sailings.
