About

Homestead Cottage is the most ambitious kitchen in the area and the reason serious food travellers now route through Doolin. Chef Robbie McCauley and his wife Sophie opened it in June 2023 in a 200-year-old cottage on the road between Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher, in the premises that was for years the Stone Cutter's Kitchen. It won a Michelin star in its first year and was named Best Restaurant in Munster at the 2026 Irish Restaurant Awards. The cooking is precise, seasonal and built on Burren and Atlantic produce, served in a small, low-beamed room. It is fine dining at the scale of a cottage, so the room is tiny and booking well ahead is essential.
