About
The long green heart of Castlebar, a tree-lined park that was once the cricket pitch of the Earls of Lucan before the 4th Earl gave it to the town in 1888. In one corner stands the 1798 monument and the grave of John Moore, the local man declared President of the Province of Connacht in the brief republic after the Races of Castlebar.
