The Swiss Cottage, Cahir (day trip)

← All things to do

About

An early-19th-century cottage orne on the banks of the Suir just south of Cahir, about 20km from Cashel, designed in the picturesque style associated with the architect John Nash. It was built as an ornamental retreat for the Butler family, all thatched roof, rustic timber and decorated interiors, and the OPW shows it by guided tour only. Combined with Cahir Castle it makes a half-day from Cashel. Note this is near Cahir, not in Cashel.
