Carlingford Adventure Centre
About
Carlingford Adventure Centre has been running here for over thirty years and is the reason a good proportion of the village's weekend visitors come at all. It works across three settings: the water, with kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, raft building and pier jumping straight off the harbour; the woodland on Slieve Foye, with laser combat, rock climbing, orienteering, hillwalking and target sports; and its SkyPark site up the Dundalk road, with high ropes, a crystal maze, archery combat and aerial adventure. Its base office is on Tholsel Street in the village and it also runs accommodation, including a hostel and holiday houses. It sells family and school programmes as well as hen, stag and corporate packages, and the mix on any given weekend depends entirely on which of those has booked.

Tips
- →Book ahead. Weekends here are largely pre-booked group blocks rather than drop-in slots.
- →Ask which site your activity actually runs from; the harbour, the woodland and SkyPark are three different places.
- →Bring a change of clothes for anything on the water, and expect the lough to be cold whatever the air temperature is doing.
