Waterworld
About
The indoor aqua park on the seafront, and the answer to a wet afternoon with children. Discover Bundoran traces the idea for it back to the rebuilding after the storm of February 1988 that wrecked the seafront. It reopened for the 2025 season after a two million euro refurbishment that gave it a new entrance, new changing rooms and a viewing area with a coffee shop for the adults who are not getting wet. Inside are the Whizzer, which Waterworld bills as the fastest slide in Ireland, the Tornado, Gravity and Twister slides, a three-lane multi slide, a wave pool with ten-minute wave sessions, rapids, a pirate galleon and a toddler pool. It is seasonal, from Easter to September, opening at weekends first and every day in the summer holidays, and you book a session online in advance. Children under 12 must be accompanied in the water, and swim hats are compulsory.
