Surf lessons with Bundoran Surf Co
About
Bundoran Surf Co was set up in March 2005 by Pete Craig and Aidan Browne as a surf school, lodge and shop under one roof on Main Street, and it is still the default first lesson for most visitors. Beginner lessons run every day of the year at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm, at Tullan Strand, with family-only sessions at noon on weekdays and 2pm at weekends. A lesson lasts about two hours, with around an hour and a half in the water, and everything is supplied, including 5/4/3mm wetsuits all year and a hot drink afterwards. Lessons are in waist-deep water, from age eight up, and the instructors are Irish Surfing Association qualified with beach lifeguard or beach safety awards. The important bit: when Tullan is too big or too stormy, the school moves the lesson to Rossnowlagh, about fifteen minutes' drive up the coast, which is gentler. If you have no car, beach transfers are available from five euro a head.
