About
A clifftop links on the headland between the main beach and Tullan Strand, founded in 1894 and, by the club's own account, one of the oldest golf clubs in Ireland. The club credits the design to Harry Vardon. It is an 18-hole par 70 with the Atlantic on one side and the Dartry Mountains behind, and the Rougey Walk runs around its edge, so you will play with walkers, surfers and the odd seal for company. When the wind gets up on the headland, and it often does, the club's own description of 'interesting shots' is an understatement. Visitors book tee times by email, and the club's PGA professional gives lessons.
