Alexandra Gardens & the Eton Walkway

About
Alexandra Gardens is a public riverside garden on Barry Avenue with a bandstand, a memorial fountain and open lawns, and the classic free spot for a photograph straight across the Thames to the Castle. From here the Eton Walkway is a signposted riverside route linking Windsor to Eton across the bridge, an easy, flat stroll that takes in the river, the college and the two towns. Seasonal attractions such as a winter ice rink sometimes appear in the gardens. It is the best free, low-effort riverside walk in the town.
