The Castle Hotel Windsor is a historic Georgian former coaching inn at 18 High Street, a four-star town-centre hotel a couple of minutes from the Castle gates with front rooms overlooking the Changing of the Guard route. It was long branded as the Mercure Windsor Castle Hotel and later as Castle Hotel Windsor - MGallery under Accor; as of 2026 it trades independently as The Castle Hotel Windsor, part of the Sutton Hotel Collection, and is no longer an Accor property, though some booking sites and search listings still show the old Mercure or MGallery branding. It has an AA Rosette restaurant, four-poster and suite options, and the easy convenience of a central base. A dependable historic hotel choice in the middle of the old town.
