Hostelling Scotland's hostel on St John Street in the Top of Town, set in the grounds of Erskine Church, a few minutes' walk from the castle. It has private en-suite rooms, family rooms and shared dorms with lockers, and a 24-hour reception. HI Hostels lists it as four-star VisitScotland accredited. It opens to individual guests from March to October; the rest of the year it is available only through Hostelling Scotland's RentaHostel scheme.
