About
A family-owned country house hotel about a mile outside the town centre, built in 1924 as a private home for Anne Brydon Gilroy and converted into one of the UK's first country house hotels in 1952. It sits on 10 acres of gardens, still family-run three generations on, with 24 rooms and 2 suites, an organic kitchen garden supplying its own restaurant, and Scotland's first carbon-neutral hotel certification, dated to 2008.
