About
The sole survivor of Rye's four original fortified town gates, built around 1340 with an upper storey added around 1380, Grade I listed and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The twin drum towers still show their portcullis grooves, and a clock was added in 1862. It is viewed from outside only; there is no interior access.
