A family-owned craft spirits company run by the brothers Thomas and Alistair Wilson, who, by their own account, gave up their day jobs in 2016 and launched Misty Isle Gin in February 2017. The range is four Misty Isle gins and Misty Isle Vodka, and a single malt called Isle Wait is maturing. The distillery sits behind the family home at Hillfoot on the outskirts of Portree and is not open to visitors; the brothers say they hope to welcome people once whisky production starts in late 2026. Hidden Scotland says the botanicals include locally foraged juniper and the water comes from the Storr Lochs, and points visitors to the company's shop in Portree instead.
