About

Scotland's Theatre in the Hills, as it calls itself, across the River Tummel at Port-na-Craig. It opened in a tent on 19 May 1951 and moved into the present building on the same date in 1981, according to Wikipedia, and its old summer rep model meant you could see several plays in a few days. Alan Cumming's first season is running in 2026, and he plays Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady, which runs from 21 November to 31 December. Before that, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (4 to 7 November) is listed as sold out, and Ceilidh, a new musical, plays off site from 12 to 17 October. The cafe bar opens in the day, and the Explorers Garden is on the same hillside. From town you walk over the suspension bridge across the Tummel; the Enchanted Forest organisers put the theatre car park a 15-minute walk from Fishers Hotel on Atholl Road.
