About

The family bookshop that grew into one of the most famous in the world, trading on Broad Street since 1879 and now spread across the shopfronts at 48-51 opposite the Sheldonian. The draw is the Norrington Room, a vast underground hall of bookshelves excavated beneath Trinity College's grounds in the 1960s, which held a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest single room selling books. Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 7pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm, with a cafe upstairs and a busy events programme of author talks.
